OZ contracts v4.1 + solc 0.8.4 recommended already for live deployment?

I am just about to deploy a new project and was wondering if OZ contracts v4.1 + solc 0.8.4 recommended already for live deployment ? … or if I should better stick with v3.4 + solc 0.7.6

I understand that there is maybe (?) a bigger risk in deploying “new” releases, but also would not want to start a new project with “legacy” components.

Everything you said is right. There is more risk, but you will also be more up to date.

I would personally choose Solidity 0.8 for a new project.
