Mitigating Inflation Attacks on an ERC-4626 Freelance Escrow Vault Routing Idle Capital to Aave v3

Hello everyone,

I am building a multi-sided marketplace architecture (Trestle DeFi) where idle freelance escrow funds are swept into an ERC-4626 Auto-Yield Vault (routing to external money markets like Aave v3) to keep locked capital productive during long-term milestone verification phases.

Because these vaults handle dynamic, unpredictable deposit patterns from independent marketplace participants, we are designing our deployment strategy to thoroughly mitigate the ERC-4626 Inflation / First-Deposit Exploit (the front-running donation attack vector that skews exchange rates for early depositors).

We are considering a hybrid mitigation approach and would highly value the community's perspective on optimal implementation bounds.

Code Isolation Profile:

Our underlying share-to-asset calculation relies on standard OpenZeppelin implementations, tracking:

// Simplified Vault state profile for reference
function _convertToShares(uint256 assets, Math.Rounding rounding) internal view virtual override returns (uint256) {
return assets.mulDiv(totalSupply() + 10**_decimalsOffset(), totalAssets() + 1, rounding);
}

Our Specific Architectural Questions:

    1. Decimals Offset Scaling: We are configuring our contracts with a virtual decimal offset using OpenZeppelin's native _decimalsOffset() implementation to introduce a safety buffer. For high-decimal assets (e.g., standard stablecoins like USDC vs. WETH) handling high-velocity micro-payments, what is the safest consensus factor for the offset to prevent exchange-rate manipulation without breaking gas accounting?
    1. Programmatic Dead-Share Burning (The Virtual Liquidity Pool Approach): Alternatively, we are evaluating a manual deployer initialization sequence that pre-mints and "locks" a baseline threshold of shares (e.g., 10³ or 10⁴ wei equivalent of assets) straight to address(0). If we use an automated contract execution factory to handle this on-chain, does this present any edge-case interaction flaws when interacting with automated cross-chain yield aggregators?
    1. Yield Discrepancy on De-Peg / Rebalancing: Since our core marketplace MarketplaceEscrow.sol calls emergency asset transfers if an underlying money market yields anomalous results, are there any documented vector instances where a rapid divergence between totalAssets() and a sudden oracle drop can cause severe share dilution for subsequent stakers?

We want to strictly prioritize security over speed before moving our contracts from our current Arbitrum / Base Sepolia testnets onto production mainnet environments.
We would love to know how other teams have standardized their production ERC-4626 yield-harvesting layers against these specific manipulation profiles.

Thank you for your time and insights!
